A living collection
Archive
This is a living collection of photographs, performances, books, projects, journeys, people and ideas gathered across many decades of work. Some things have been carefully documented, while others are still being rediscovered in boxes, folders, old websites and memories.
You can follow a subject, search for something specific or simply wander. There is no single correct route through an archive. Sometimes the most interesting thing is the one you were not looking for.

A quiet moment in the jungle
Sue in the Malaysian jungle in the early 1970s, during the two years she lived there with her children. The experience became part of the shared ground from which Sue and Andy developed much of their later work. Around Sue are notebooks, papers and the ordinary objects of daily life. It is a quiet image, but one that opens onto a much larger story of family, fieldwork, anthropology and relationships with the Temiar.
